Hi! My name is Darian and I'm an ongoing  Gamedesigner from Germany. I enjoy working with people to create unique games and stories that challenge me. Below are some projects I have worked on.

Projects I worked on...

Like a Moth to a Light

Designer/ Unity Engine

In “Like a Moth to a Light” we play the child who turned into a moth in his dream and his companion the will-o'-the-wisp. Together they travel through the child's dream world, where they have to solve puzzles by working together. Players should experience a relaxing experience in a new, cute but strange world. This is preparing for winter, which will send the will-o'-the-wisp and the moth on their journey to warmer places. Together they travel through forests with mushrooms as big as trees, over mountains full of snow followed by flower meadows of various types and sizes, through forests with plants not quite from our world and over beaches with corals out of the water. As you travel through these locations, you collect elemental fragments to build elemental orbs that allow you to unlock new abilities. However, these abilities are different for both characters and players need to know how to use these abilities together. You can even combine the different elements to solve the puzzles and learn more about the world and story.

I need a game, PLEASE!

Teamlead/Designer/ Unity Engine

In this game you play as Suki the samurai girl in a new game designed by game design students. Suki knows that she is a character and can now play as the main character in a new game. But Suki doesn't know anything more about the game, except that it will be played at a school. And that's exactly the trick to this project. The player and Suki are still figuring out what kind of game it will become. Find items and interact cleverly with the world and your surroundings and see which direction the game develops.

About me

Ever since I was little I loved playing board games with people. But playing the same games over and over again became boring, so I would invent new rules for the games, or grab paper and pens and create my own. At the age of 6 something changed, I got my first video game console and my first video game New Super Mario Bros. DS and a Nintendo DSi. Interaction, animation and music at the same time was mind blowing for me. I wanted to play more games and see what made them special. This continued until others my age wanted to play more adult games instead of "children's games". Then I had to choose between children's games and adult games... well I took both. I didn't commit myself to a specific group, but rather I played whatever caught my eye. If I liked it, I played another one... or the whole series. But not only games but also the people behind the games intrigued me. Which ultimately led to me being educated in game design since 2021.
